Could your car do with a Cut and Polish or Paint Correction?
What you can expect with a cut and polish or paint correction:
INSPECT

Any cut and polish requires a detailed inspection - both under sunlight and detailing lights. The sun helps see paint imperfections that detailing lights cannot and detailing lights are needed to move around that you can't do with sunlight. This is also required to mark out any bad spots with special tape.
During the inspection stage, it's normal to also use a paint-depth gauge reader, this is a laser tool that reads how much clearcoat is left on the car and will assist in understanding the level of cutting I can do.
CUT

The "cutting" stage refers to using a (normally) hard pad and abrasive compound to start removing scratches in the clearcoat - this is done by the above mentioned methods combine with a Orbital Polisher. (to the right of the compounds)
The outcome of the cutting stage is normally a much smoother paint finish with a noticeable reduction of scratches along with many other positive traits such as; clearer paint and increase in the shine of your paint.
The type of compound and pad used will vary depending on the paint hardness and defect severity. It’s a corrective stage designed to restore the paint’s clarity and prepare it for polishing.
POLISH

The polishing step requires a softer pad and a finishing compound, these compounds are formulated to maximise shine and depending on the brand protection. The polish for most cars that don't have deep scratches is enough and widely used to prepare a car for sale (see Pre-Sale Car Detail here) but it also helps remove light blemishes.
Once the polishing stage is complete, you can expect a deep gloss finish that removes orange peel and locks in the deep mirror-like shine you've probably see on tiktok and instagram!
If you're not getting a ceramic coating to lock in this shine (I think you should!) You really should get a good wax or ceramic spray (not the same as a ceramic coating) to at least apply some short protection to your Cut & Polish.
